Danika’s Story
When a baby is born, time is always of the essence
“I’ve had two healthy babies at Vernon Jubilee Hospital (VJH), and both births ended up being more complicated than I expected.”
My daughter, Maeva, was born this past January and her first few minutes of life were anything but perfect.
She was born by C-section after a high-risk pregnancy. Her lungs were full of mucus, and she was struggling to breathe. I was trying to stay calm as I relived the exact same nightmare from two years ago when her older brother Sullivan was born. Without missing a beat, my medical team whisked her across the room to a waiting Panda Warmer.

Tania’s Story
When Tania was 43, she discovered a lump in her breast, and her world turned upside down. An ultrasound revealed a mass, and a biopsy confirmed her worst fear: cancer.
The ultrasounds, X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans helped her doctors understand and track the cancer’s progression, providing crucial insights that guided her treatment.

Veronica’s Story
Quick access to X-ray got saved this little girl from a life changing injury and got her back on the ice doing what she loves

Leanne’s Story
I know this because I would not be here today if it wasn’t for the timely access to diagnosis and treatment through CT scans that saved my life….

The Gift of Excellence: Recumbent Bikes Support Active Lifestyle and Rehabilitation
Outpatients recovering from recent surgical procedures are now able to access a new recumbent bike that has been added to the repertoire of rehab equipment at VJH.

Assisted Bathing Tub
A new medical bathtub was purchased for the Vernon Community Healthcare Office thanks in part to local gentleman and philanthropist, Charles Farrer, who experienced first-hand the need for assistance in bathing.

Gamma Camera
Much to the excitement of the Medical Imaging team, a generous bequest left in support of high priority needs in medical imaging resulted in the purchase and installation of a new gamma camera this spring.

Anesthesia Ultrasound
When one of the existing anesthesia ultrasound machines at VJH unexpectedly broke down in the fall of 2019, the Hospital Administration team approached the Foundation with an urgent request to purchase a new one. We quickly obliged.
