Birth Chimes Celebrate Babies Born at VJH

Cheerful, twinkling chimes are ringing throughout Vernon Jubilee Hospital celebrating each new birth at VJH.Birth chimes installed in the Women’s & Children’s Health Department can be heard via the overhead paging system, bringing smiles and joy to all who hear.At a ceremony held November 18th, the chimes were dedicated in memory of the City’s first obstetrician/gynecologist, Dr. Ted Jordan. The chimes were purchased by VJH Foundation thanks to generous donations made in memory of Dr. Jordan.Dr. Jordan, who cared for patients at VJH from 1960 to 2009, delivered hundreds of babies in his fifty years of active practice.Special guests at the celebration included Dr. Jordan’s sons Pip and Jamie, and Leslie Shillam, the first baby Dr. Jordan delivered in Vernon, and her mom, Betty.pip-and-jamie-jordanleslie-and-bettygloria-morganbirthing-chimes-ceremonybirthing-chimes-plaque-at-vjhJamie Rings the Chimes!
