“All of my four children and my eight grandchildren were born at Vernon Jubilee Hospital and hopefully there will be a ninth who will be born there too. It is my hospital…our hospital and we want the best health care we can possibly have.”
Joanne Kineshanko, Co-chair, Building a Tower of Care Campaign
The Building a Tower of Care Campaign was launched in September 2008, with a goal of raising 7 million dollars to equip the new 181,500 sq.ft. Patient Care Tower at Vernon Jubilee Hospital.
The new “Patient Care Tower” will house Emergency, Maternity, Paediatric, Surgery, ICU, Cardiac and
Ambulatory Care Departments. An additional two floors will be built to accommodate future growth.
Co-Chairs Joanne Kineshanko and Laurie Postill are delighted that the Campaign is doing so well. To date a total of $3.7 million dollars has been raised and an additional 1.8 million has been pledged to the Campaign.
The Campaign team has been working...with every gift, we get closer to our goal.

Earlier this year, Kelowna resident Mr. Colin Pritchard contacted Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation to learn more about the planned expansion for Vernon Jubilee Hospital and the current Building a Tower of Care Campaign to equip the new Patient Care Tower. Recognizing the importance of this major improvement to health care in the North Okanagan, Colin, his wife Lois and their youngest daughter Alison Moscrop made a decision to make a major gift of $250,000 to the Hospital Foundation from their family foundation, The Lois and Colin Pritchard Foundation.
Last fall local philanthropist, George Galbraith challenged physicians to get involved in fund raising through his pledge to match physician-raised total donations of up to $250,000 over a 5 year period. In year one the physicians raised the required $50,000 which allowed for matching dollars to be made by Mr. Galbraith.
