Staff Donation Programs
We are proud of the staff support we receive at the VJH Foundation. They are an integral part of our connection to the community and we value their support. If you are an Interior Health employee, volunteer or physician interested in supporting the VJH Foundation, here are the opportunities available to you:
Staff Lottery. (Class “B” Gaming Event Licence # TR-PR-23721)
All staff from VJH and community and residential care staff from the surrounding areas are eligible to sign up for participation in the staff lottery.
Every two weeks, in between pay days, a 50/50 draw is held. To participate, send a completed application form to the Foundation Office. The cost is $5.00 per cheque or $130.00 for 26 pay periods.
Full time employees have the option of payroll deduction and casual employees need to pay by cheque or automatic withdrawl from their bank account or credit card. As stated by CRA rules, 50/50 payments are not eligible for a tax receipt. We currently have 203 participants which means if you win, you have an extra $507.50 to spend between pay days and VJH Foundation has $507.50 to put towards equipment for the hospital! Monthly Giving.
A monthly donation can add up to a substantial tax receipt by the end of the year. Staff have the option of giving through payroll deduction, automatic withdrawl from their bank account or credit card. Payroll deduction gifts are added to T4 slips. All other methods are issued an annual receipt after their final gift in December. Staff Payroll Deduction Application form
Volunteering at events.
We have several events throughout the year and volunteer support is vital. It is always a pleasure to have staff on board and we encourage you to visit our Special Events page and let us know what interests you.
