  • 2009Light A Bulb Campaign Supports Equipment Needs For the Building a Tower of Care Campaign

Fliers have been delivered to homes in the North Okanagan and Shuswap.  In recognition of the enormity of the $7 Million campaign the decision has been made to support this very important cause.  The goal for this campaign has been set at $200,000.

As of December 17th, donations totalled over $103,000.  Donations can be made securely on line by clicking on the DONATE NOW button.  To access a Light A Bulb form click on LARS the Light A Bulb Elf. 

All donations of $20 or more will be receipted for income tax purposes.  In order to receive an income tax receipt for the 2009 tax year, please make your gift by December 31, 2009.

  • New Board member welcomed

Local resident, Kevin Arbuckle, joined the Board of Directors at the November meeting.  Mr Arbuckle is the Assistant VP and Branch Manager for the Vernon Branch of HSBC Canada.  Kevin brings enthusiasm and lots of experience from a similar Board role with Thompson Rivers University Foundation.  The Board of Directors is now at full capcity (15 members).

  • Annual General Meeting

Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation held it's Annual General Meeting on September 16, 2008 at the Blue Heron Restaurant.  Members of the Board reported on the Foundation's activities.  The Board was delighted to share that $938,500 had given to Interior Health North Okanagan to finance mostly equipment purchases, but some unfunded programs and needed staff education were also supported.

President Greg Mussenden, Vice-President Richard Rolke and Secretary-Treasurer Joanne Kineshanko were re-elcted for another term of office.  Other directors include: Elise Allan, Dr. Finlay Armanious, Jason Bilodeau, Brenda Fletcher, Greg Hamilton, Gary Holman, Gloria Morgan, Paul Morgan, Cheryl Tomiak, Morris Vardabasso, & Sharon Whitby.  To view photos of the current board click here.     

 

  • Special Challenge Launched the Building a Tower of Care Campaign at the 2008 GALA

Local Philanthropist, George Galbraith, sends a challenge to Physicians in the North Okanagan to come on board and support the Building a Tower of Care Campaign.  Mr. Galbraith has offered to match total donations made by Doctors up to $50,000 per year for a period of 5 years.

Dr. Ed Hardy welcomed the challenge on behalf of the Physicans at the VJHF Gala held on September 27, 2008 .
